AUSTRALIA-CHINA YOUTH DIALOGUE 2020 UPDATE

 

Monday 27 July 2020 — In light of the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing international travel bans, the Australia-China Youth Dialogue (ACYD) has decided to hold the next dialogue in H1 2021.  This decision takes into account not only the profound global health impacts the virus is having with over 10 million confirmed cases, but also nascent flow on effects including economic recessions, travel bans and the implementation of social distancing regulations. Further details regarding the application process and application dates will be released from October 2020.

The Australia-China Youth Dialogue (ACYD) advances the Australia China relationship by promoting frequent and meaningful dialogue between young leaders from both China and Australia who are interested in furthering Australia-China relations.

Taking place alternatively between major cities in Australia and China for the past ten years, the dialogue has fostered strong people-to-people connections between delegates to enable robust and productive discussion around the Australia-China bilateral relationship. Delegates selected to participate in this initiative are accomplished individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds. They have demonstrated sustained commitment to public service, outstanding academic credentials, and leadership experience in their respective fields. By this measure, The ACYD is of vital importance to the development of the Australia-China relationship.
