ACYA Group attends Governor-General’s Reception in Beijing

In October 2013, Her Excellency the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Governor-General) at the invitation the President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping commenced a State Visit to the People’s Republic of China.

At the invitation of HE Ms Frances Adamson the Australian Ambassador to China, the Australia-China Youth Association Group (ACYA Group) attended the Governor-General’s Reception at the Australian Embassy in Beijing.

Attendees included Australia-China Youth Dialogue (ACYD) members Ann Wang, Neroli Wang, Zhou Kang, Ren Jie as well as the Victoria Kung the ACYA China President.

After the event, ACYA China President Victoria Kung spoke about the importance of such a visit by Australia’s leading representative.

“The State Visit to China by Australia’s Governor-General is a proud moment and provides an opportunity to showcase the diversity of the Australia-China relationship.”

“Stressing the importance of business links but also cultural exchange, the Governor-General highlighted that the optimism and vibrancy of young Chinese and Australians will play a key role in further strengthening the relations between Australia and China.”
