The ACYD Board and Management Team worked energetically over the year to bring together another outstanding group to explore future directions, challenges and possibilities at the eighth ACYD, held in Beijing from 15-18 September 2017.

The Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit, part of the larger Asia 21 Young Leaders Initiative, is the pre-eminent gathering of Asia’s most dynamic young leaders from every country and every sector in the Asia-Pacific region. The Summit brings together a core group of over 150 Asia 21 Young Leaders Fellows and delegates from Asia and the U.S, representing a wide range of fields, and all under the age of 40.
Chloe Dempsey: Beyond the surface
For Australian student Chloe Dempsey, a trip to China in 2012 to work as a volunteer English teacher in rural Sichuan sparked a deep curiosity for the country and its people that would eventually lead her to becoming involved with the Foundation for Australian Studies in China (FASIC), and return to China on a regular basis.
