Meet Elva Zhang | International education: broadening Australia's horizons

Meet Elva Zhang. Originally from China, Elva is an Australian-qualified lawyer with a Master of Laws from Geneva, Switzerland. Elva thrives in multinational environment and her international experience proves to be a huge asset in the business world. Elva was also a delegate of ACYD 2014 and has been a long time contributor to the dialogue since.

2011年,史凯特从墨尔本大学毕业后来到中国,先后在南宁、台北学习中文,2013年开始在清华攻读环境科学与工程学硕士,2015年开始攻读博士。在清华这几年,她不仅运用自己的专业知识在山西饮用水除砷公益项目中提出切实可行的解决措施,还在中澳青年之间搭建起交流沟通的桥梁。导师刘书明副教授评价说:“史凯特在清华的成长过程是环境学院这几年构建全球环境人才培养体系的缩影,也是清华大学国际化人才培养的一个缩影。希望她毕业后能够带着清华的精神,继续攀登,为环境保护做出更大贡献。”

Featured Young China Watcher – Neil Thomas

Neil Thomas is a Research Associate at MacroPolo at the Paulson Institute, where he works on Chinese politics and international political economy. Neil previously worked for The Australian National University, both as a Morrison Scholar at the Australian Centre on China in the World and as a Research Project Officer at the Crawford School of Public Policy. He has also spent time at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center, Danwei Media, and The Texas Tribune, and has written for various publications. Neil holds a Master in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
